I just replaced the rear wheel bearing and hub with brand new parts on my rear drivers side wheel. Prior to this I would get a popping when I first started off in gear whether it was forward or reverse. Now I no longer get that popping sound, however It still sounds like there is some sort of "play" in the rear end. When I take my foot off the gas when coasting at about 15-25 I still get a popping. I feel like it may be the drive shaft (z1 1piece steel). The car also has had the differential and differential bushings replaced professionally. Just recently there has been a more prominent sound coming from underneath the car, which happens only when slowing to a stop and accelerating from a stop. I checked the freshly replaced wheel for play in the bearing and there was none. Is it possible that the u-joints on my driveshaft have gone bad? Any other ideas on what could be causing this?
